Power Zone DVDs/Videos
The three volumes of DVDs/videos use a circuit-training method to create my Ultimate Metabolism Boosting Workout. The Power Zone DVDs/videos can be used on their own or in conjunction with the cardio and toning routines of the Fit Forever! program.
- The Volume I: Cardio Workout includes 25 minutes of fat-blasting cardio that enhances agility and mobility.
- The Volume II: Toning Workout contains 20 minutes of upper- and lower-body resistance training with targeted moves for lean, tight muscles.
- The Volume III: Abs Workout focuses on core strength exercises that sculpt and flatten the tummy.
Exercise Ball
Exercise balls, also called stability balls, have limitless potential to create fun and effective workouts. The ball will help you tone your trouble spots, improve your balance and coordination, and zero in on your core — your abs, back, waist, hips, and butt — while working multiple muscle groups at the same time. You'll also strengthen and tone those small, intricate muscles in your lower abdomen and pelvic girdle.
To get started, you will need to inflate your exercise ball. Here's how:
- Remove ball from plastic bag and locate white plug taped to it. Detach white plug.
- Unfold ball and locate hole at one end.
- Take out blue pump and screw on white tip.
- Insert white tip into hole in ball. Using black handle, pump air into ball until fully inflated.
- When ball has reached maximum fullness, remove pump and place white plug into hole.
- Let ball sit for one day and adjust naturally. If necessary, provide additional inflation. Ball should eventually reach 25 to 28 inches in circumference.
- Inflate periodically when you notice ball has lost some air.
Power Resistance Bands
Power resistance bands provide the perfect complement to the stability ball! You can stretch these latex bands to do just about any traditional strength-training or toning move that you would normally do with dumbbells, barbells, or exercise machines. As with dumbbells, the bands provide resistance, making your muscles work to overcome it. Because the bands stretch in any conceivable direction, however, you can tone and stretch your muscles through a greater range of motion than you would with traditional forms of resistance, creating a well-rounded workout. It's easy to get started using the bands. Simply open the bag and try stretching them to test the different resistance levels. Find a band that you are comfortable with and begin working out.
I truly believe that the exercise ball and power bands are the most important exercise accessories for busy women and men. They enable you to reclaim your health and your life by allowing you to embark on a fitness and weight-loss plan that is entirely doable. Best of all, you can achieve a fit and fabulous body in the privacy of your own home!
