I love dressing up - and flattering spring fashions are all around us! In my most recent Fit Over 50: Spring Into Shape magazine, I included a section on clothes that are flattering for women over 50. They are simple suggestions that really work when it comes to choosing silhouettes that play up your "best features"!

Below are some additional tips when it comes to choosing flattering spring fashions...remember, the ultimate goal is that you feel good in what you are wearing - confidence is the best accessory you can have!

Flattering Spring Fashions

Tops. It's the time of year to put away the long sleeves and break out the tanks, but if you are a little self conscious of your arms, a fluttery short sleeve is perfect - it can hide the parts you aren't ready to show off, while adding a pretty, lower-body balancing silhouette. And if your tummy is a work in progress, always size up in shirts - a line that skims your body is usually the most flattering! If you are looking for an upper-body workout to help tone and trim, try my upper body workout series or the Shape, Strengthen and Sculpt Kit!

Bottoms. When it comes to the lower half, the options are endless come springtime! If you live somewhere warm, you can opt for skirts...and this year, all the hemline lengths are popular, so choose what you feel good in! An a-line silhouette is always flattering, whether it's a denim mini or a cotton knee-length skirt. I also love leggings - I think they look great in almost any setting! Throw on a longer light jacket and a pair of high heeled sandals for a night out, and for daytime a breezy, slightly oversized tank and sandals with leggings will show off your shapely legs! And if you want to help lean and tone your legs, check out my 10-minute leg workout!

Accessories. I love a fun accessory - whether it's a dangly earring, a stack of bracelets, or even a delicate anklet, accessories will take a casual outfit up a notch in no time. I also focus on footwear - a strappy, heeled sandal can take jeans and a t-shirt to a fun, nighttime look, while flat sandals can dress down a maxi dress for a laid-back lunch. And I always love Easy Spirits, which are fashionable and comfortable whether you are looking for sandals, booties or fitness footwear (you can see my Easy Spirit picks and save 20% with code DENISE22 here!)

I hope you like these spring fashion suggestions - whatever you wear, know that you look FABULOUS and you are WORTH IT!!!!

Let's live EVER BETTERâ„¢ - together!
