I had such an amazing experience at the ESPYs this week!
So great seeing all my ESPN friends. It was like a mini reunion! I had a show on ESPN for 10 years. It was my first national TV show! And to think that I was there at the beginning of the ESPN network is so cool. Can you believe that I was the lead in to Sportscenter? So awesome to see how big the show got…my family watches it everyday! Feels so great to reminisce with all of my old friends.
The best part about this day was to experience it with my daughter, Katie. It was her very first time walking the red carpet at the ESPYs! I’m such a proud mom. Knowing that she’s on her way and paving her own path in the health and fitness industry to help young girls makes me cry tears of joy! My heart bursts with pride!
Here’s a little glimpse of our behind the scenes experience…
The red carpet is like a fun gathering with so many great athletes and people. You walk the carpet and take photos with hundreds of photographers yelling your name and flashes everywhere! Along the way get to talk to all of the amazing athletes and sports icons. It was such an honor to be there. Catching up with old friends and chatting with athletes that we all admire was so exhilarating!
Some of my favorite moments included speaking to Peyton Manning about how his parents have a photo of me and his brother, Eli in the Oval Office with President Bush in their home. Eli and I both served on the President’s Council of Physical Fitness and Sports. The Manning family is so amazing and classy!
Another great moment was when I was talking to Olympian Scott Hamilton and his beautiful wife, Tracie! I’ve known him for 30 years and it was great to see him so healthy and happy.
Great show…great memories! And here’s a fun article! StarPulse
