Do you want more energy? Do you want to feel great? Water and oxygen are the keys to feeding every cell in your body, giving you great energy and helping you feel better. Staying hydrated is so important in so many ways. I recommend drinking about eight 8-ounce glasses of water each day to maintain healthy hydration, especially when you’re trying to lose weight.

This is what I do, I have a glass of water as soon as I wake up in the morning with a squeeze of lemon (great for digestion!), then before every snack and every meal. This makes it a healthy habit. I also recommend eating plenty of fruits and vegetables. Their high water content will help you to stay hydrated, plus they’re so good for you in so many other valuable ways.

I have a water filter system that I keep on my counter, which means I don’t have to carry a million bottles back and forth to my car, it’s convenient and tastes great, and it allows me to use the water in my house which is great for the environment, too.

To jazz up my water, I add sliced cucumbers, mint, strawberries, or orange slices. I also try to keep water with me everywhere I go – in my car, at my desk, in the kitchen, in the bathroom, near my bed and, of course, right nearby when I’m exercising. All great reminders to drink up! The more you see it, the more you drink!!! Buy a reuseable water bottle and stay hydrated everywhere you may be!

Here are my top 10 reasons for drinking water and staying hydrated:

Fluid Balance. Water helps to maintain the body’s fluid balance. It transports nutrients in the body, regulates body temperature and helps you to digest your food. So keep drinking water.

Calorie Control. Water helps you to feel full, and as a result you avoid overeating.

Muscle Fuel. Staying hydrated gives your muscles that extra boost of energy to help with exercising.

Clearer Skin. When you drink water, you’re flushing out toxins, which can reduce the risk of pimples, and it keeps your skin younger looking.

Kidney Function. Drinking lots of water clears away all the bad we don’t need in our body, which keeps your kidneys functioning properly. Staying well-hydrated has also been known to prevent kidney stones.

Productivity Boost & Good Brain Function. When you’re properly hydrated, you’re better able to concentrate because you’re more refreshed and alert. A common symptom of dehydration is fatigue, so drink up! Drinking water also improves blood flow & oxygen flow to brain strengthening memory and overall brain function.

Pain Prevention. Aching joints and muscles cramps and be prevented by staying hydrated. Your spinal cord, eyes and brain are all surrounded by water so it’s essential for you to stay hydrated to keep them healthy.

Sickness Fighter. Staying hydrated is great for preventing illness.

Balancing Moods. Because water helps to regulate your body and brain function, it’s closely related to balancing mood and emotions.

Keep things flowing. When you drink plenty of fluids you’re more likely to have a healthy colon and a healthy gut.

Cheers everyone!

Let’s get fitter, together – inside and out,

Denise
