The Perfect Lunge for Toning Legs & Buns

Hi Everyone!

Summer is coming! Time to look our very best in our swimsuits, shorts and sundresses!

So let’s talk about the HIPS, THIGHS and BUNS! The LUNGE is one of the best ways to reshape the lower half of your body—your butt, your thighs and your hips. And it’s a great way to get sexy, SUMMER LEGS to help keep you lean, toned and free from cellulite. The lunge is a resistance training exercise. As you move up and down, your body weight becomes the force that you’re pushing against. You can do them anywhere AND there are so many different types of lunges, each targeting different muscles. I love to do curtsy lunges, side lunges, or even walking lunges as I’m crossing the room at home–just make sure that your knees don’t go past your toes.

Watch this trainer’s trip from my Daily Workout TV show and I will guide you through it. I sometimes call this one the elevator lunge. To do this right, you want to stand with one leg forward, then you’ll go straight down bending the knees at a perfect 90 degree angle with your hips forward, and then SQUEEZE your booty as you lift straight back up, holding good posture with your abs nice and tight. Follow along with me in the video so you’re doing it right—that way you get the most effective results!
To modify this lunge and make it easier, just go half way down and then squeeze those buttocks on you way back up.

This is so great for your backside! Remember, it’s the last thing that leaves the room—why not make your backside your BEST side—right in time for bikini season! You can do it!
