3 Menopause Myths Busted
Menopause comes with a lot of changes—and even more myths! As women, we’re often told what we can’t do anymore once we hit this stage of life. But guess what? So many of those old ideas just aren’t true! Whether you’re in perimenopause, menopause, or beyond, this is a time to thrive!! Let’s talk through a few of the biggest menopause myths together—and remind ourselves just how powerful this stage of life can be!
MYTH: You should slow down your workouts during menopause.
TRUTH: Not true! In fact, strength training, balance, and cardio are more important than ever for preserving bone density, muscle, and mood. You may need to adjust your routine—but keep moving! MYTH: You need to go on medication or HRT right away.
TRUTH: Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) is one option for sure—but it’s not for everyone. Many women manage symptoms naturally with sleep, nutrition, movement, and stress relief. Every woman is different. And always speak to your healthcare provider to figure out a plan that is best for YOU!
MYTH: Your metabolism is doomed after menopause.
TRUTH: While metabolism can slow slightly with age and hormonal shifts, it’s not a lost cause. Building muscle, eating enough protein, and staying active helps you stay strong and steady.
Menopause is not the end—think of it as a new beginning! With a little knowledge, the right mindset, and a lifestyle that supports your body and mind, you can feel stronger, more vibrant, and more in control than ever.
