I have the most precious news to share with you… I’M A GRANDMA!!!
On September 5th, my beautiful daughter Katie gave birth to her first baby girl… and my first granddaughter... Lila Reed!!! I still can hardly believe I get to say those words, it is truly a blessing. We are absolutely overjoyed and completely in love with this sweet little girl!
So many of you have been following along with me and my family for decades, and it feels so special to be able to share this next chapter with you. Jeff and I have spent this past week soaking up every single second as brand-new grandparents. We just stare at her, hold her, smile at her… and yes, there have been LOTS of happy tears! Lila is healthy, beautiful, and thriving, and Katie is doing wonderfully. And Lane was right there beside Katie, steadfast and loving through it all. I could not be prouder of my baby girl.
Watching Katie become a mother has been one of the most emotional experiences of my life. I remember holding my baby girl in my arms, and now I am watching her hold her own daughter. It really makes you stop and appreciate how quickly the years go by… and how precious every stage of life truly is. There is nothing quite like seeing your family grow right before your eyes.
And I have to tell you… becoming a grandma has given longevity, health, and fitness a whole new meaning for me. All of these years I’ve talked about staying strong, moving your body, taking care of yourself, and living a healthy life. Today as I write this… I feel that message even more deeply. I don’t just want to live a long life; I want to live a long, healthy, active life so I can be here for all of these beautiful moments. I want to chase after Lila, get down on the floor and play with her, take walks together, dance with her, and be there for all the milestones still to come!
It reminds me that taking care of ourselves is not about a number on the scale or trying to look a certain way. It’s about being strong enough to enjoy your life. It’s about having the energy and vitality to say YES to the people and moments that mean the most to you. And for me, right now, that little girl is giving me even more motivation to keep moving, keep smiling, and keep taking care of this body I’ve been given.
I also want to say a huge THANK YOU to all of you who have welcomed my family into your lives over the years. You have celebrated so many chapters with me - from TV show workouts, my girls growing up, weddings and annual celebrations, to now becoming a Grandmother. It means more than you know that I get to share these personal moments with this incredible community of women.. you ALL who have been beside me for so many years.
GIRLS, we have so much life ahead of us! Whether you’re a mom, a grandmother, a daughter, a friend, or all of the above… there are still so many beautiful chapters waiting for us. Let’s keep each other strong, keep each other moving, and keep celebrating every age and every stage. Because getting older isn’t about slowing down… it’s about having the health and strength to experience MORE. So, from my very full and very happy heart… WELCOME TO THE WORLD, LILA REED!!! You are already so loved. Grandma can’t wait for all of our adventures together!
Blessed beyond words. So much love. So much JOY. And so many happy tears!!!
Let's live FIT, HAPPY and HEALTHY - together!!
