Sculpt and Smile: Your Mini Summer Toning Plan

Hi everyone! As swimsuit season nears, I get asked a lot about staying toned and healthy for the summer months… not just to look good, but feel good, too! And my tried-and-true summer routine is simple and fun to do: Targeted toning moves and a walking plan!

Walking and strength training can produce amazing results after 40, without a lot of stress on your joints. Consistently doing arms, core and glute moves along with your walks will give you lean muscles that burn calories - even when you are sleeping! I have so many toning moves and short workouts in my Membership, but to get started today try this mini summer toning plan!

Simple Summer Toners to Build Lean Muscle

Walk: Aim for 30-45 minutes of walking most days of the week. Walking burns calories, boosts your metabolism and helps regulate hormones, plus you can do it anywhere and mix up your route to keep things interesting. That’s why I love walking! I have a great Indoor Walking Workout in my membership so you can walk with me any day of the week in the comfort of your home!

Arms: It doesn’t take a lot of time to work your upper body, and when you are consistent, you will see results in just a few weeks! My “Sexy Arm” Series is so popular with my readers - three quick but effective upper-body workouts that target tone your arms, shoulders, and back. All you need are some light weights (3, 5 or 8 pounds). The first one is just three minutes - you can do this!!! 

Core: Strong core muscles are so important, especially to help tackle meno-belly! Keeping your core strong and healthy helps support posture and creates a toned midsection. I have a 7-Day Flat Ab Program in my Membership that is simple to follow, and lays out daily ab moves that will give you strength, confidence and grace! 

Glutes: A strong lower body is important as we age - it supports mobility, prevents falls, gives you independence, and even helps keep your circulation going! Lunges are a great way to keep your glutes and lower body in shape - here’s how to do a proper one:
