Hi Everyone! How is your holiday season going? One of the questions I get asked quite often is, “How do I get started on an exercise routine - especially when I am busy? What are your best workout starter tips?” Many people seem to have difficulties just getting motivated to begin their fitness journey - not to mention when you have holiday events to attend. I totally understand! Getting started is the largest hump to get over! But, trust me, YOU CAN DO IT, and when you do, it is TOTALLY WORTH IT! I believe in you!
Here are my top 7 workout starter tips to get you going - no matter what time of year!
Workout Starter Tips:
1.) Tell yourself that is is NOW or NEVER! There is no better time than RIGHT NOW to begin your fitness journey! Convince your mind that you are READY to make this step! Even if you are busy, you will be amazed at how just a few minutes per day of exercise will make you feel so much better, mentally and physically.
2.) Block off time on your daily to-do list to workout. Set aside at least 30 minutes from your day to accomplish it. Do not allow anyone to come between you and your workout. Set this as a priority!
3.) Partner up! Grab a workout buddy. It will hold you both accountable.
4.) Find a place in your home that is quiet so you can stretch and strengthen without bumping into furniture. Four feet is all you need! NO excuses!
5.) Wear a workout outfit that makes you feel attractive. It helps to psych you up, and puts you in the mood to move around more! You are worth the investment!
6.) Plan your workout at the same time each day so that it becomes a routine. Just like brushing your teeth, when you schedule it at the same times, it becomes a habit!
7.) If you find yourself too busy to get your workout in all at once, try to split them up into smaller time segments. Even doing a little bit of exercise for 10 minutes at a time, 3 times a day, is helpful for losing weight and getting in shape!
