3 Simple Ways to Recharge Your Body and Your Mind!
Recharge Your Mind: Breathing
One of my favorite ways to take a "breather," breathing exercises can help you to boost your energy, slow your pace, or reset your entire outlook. If you want to address a slump, try the Stimulating Breath. This vigorous breathing exercise can help address low energy while also raising alertness, so whenever you need a boost in your emotional or physical output, give it a try! Start by standing tall and relaxing your shoulders. With your mouth closed, inhale and exhale rapidly through your nose. Short, quick breaths in and out is what you are looking for. Practice this for 10 seconds, then take a 10-15 second break and repeat. Do this practice several times, and see how you feel! And for more breathing exercises, my new Strong Body, Strong Mind Magazine - it has breathing exercises to help you focus, sleep, and more!
Recharge Your Body: Low Intensity Interval Walking
When it comes to managing stress and boosting energy, movement is the way to go. It is proven that exercise can lift your mood, so why not give your health the gift of doing so every day for at least 20 minutes?! It truly is the gift that will keep on giving... and especially when recharging your body, I love Low-Intensity Interval Walking Workouts. On your walks, you simply alternate moderate walking with speed walking to keep your body at peak performance. It keeps your heart pumping and helps you focus on your body movement - not outside stressors. And the periods of slower walking give your body and mind a little extra time to recharge! My Strong Body, Strong Mind Magazine has 8 pages of amazing walking insight - from types of walking you can try and a checklist of what to bring on your walks, to post-walk cool-down stretches. Get it today and see how great you feel when you add walking to your personal recharge routine! Recharge Your Being: Healthy, Fueling Snacks
What you eat can leave you feeling energized and ready to go - or in a slump and wanting to take a nap. By replacing ultra-processed snack foods like chips, candy bars or breakfast cereals, prep and have ready to go fresh veggies, hummus and cut up fruit. If you take just 10 minutes at the start of each week to have these on hand, stored in sealed containers in your fridge, you will be more likely to reach for them - in turn, giving your body and mind a recharge. And pro tip: store the above foods in clear containers at eye level, and studies show you are even more likely to eat them!
I hope these recharge tips help you harness the power of a healthy body and emotional well-being - you are worth it!!
Let's live FIT, HAPPY and HEALTHY - together!!
