Eat to Feel Strong: 7 Hormone-Supporting Seasonal Foods
Hi everyone! I get asked a lot about our hormones and how to keep them healthy and stable as we age. While hormone health is influenced by a variety of factors including sleep, stress and exercise, what you eat can make a difference! Add these yummy, seasonal foods into your diet to support hormone health and give you energy! These are the foods I eat to help keep my energy up, my hormones stable, and my body fueled!
7 Hormone Supporting Seasonal Foods To Try
1.Berries. One of my favorites, berries provide anthocyanins, vitamin C, and other antioxidants - these help reduce inflammation, which may support overall hormonal health. Plus they give you fiber, so you are keeping your body regulated - important when it comes to hormone balance. Try the Berry Ricotta Waffle in my Premium Membership - delicious and fueling!
2.Tomatoes. A late-summer staple, tomatoes provide antioxidants, vitamin C and potassium, to help support heart health, protect cells from oxidative stress, and support overall aging.
3.Dark, leafy greens. These superfoods offer up magnesium, calcium and more - to help with nerve and muscle function, which in turn may support healthy sleep and stress.
4.Peaches. I love to grill peaches, and knowing they provide vitamin C, fiber, and antioxidants just makes them that much sweeter! Plus they help support your immune health, important as we age. The Peach Smoothie in my Membership is a fan favorite pick-me-up - join today and give it a try!
5.Healthy fats. EVOO, avocados, nuts and fish like wild-caught salmon are so helpful for hormone health. These healthy fats help reduce inflammation, important when hormone stability is a focus.
6.Beets. An Austin family favorite! Beets are good for men and women, as they offer up antioxidants, folate and potassium, helping to get your circulation moving and keeping your heart healthy. Beets are truly a healthy aging food!
One great way I add more beets to my diet is with my daily BEETS+ Gummies and BEETS+ Powder (which helps me stay hydrated too)! I have a scoop of in my water, and 2 gummies every single morning to start the day with ingredients that help support a healthy blood pressure and circulation.
7.Lean proteins. We need more protein as we get older, to help fuel our muscles, so add some tofu, fish, eggs and Greek yogurt and cottage cheese to your meals. These also help stabilize blood sugar levels, which helps to support hormone health. My Sesame Noodle Tofu Salad is just one of the many healthy, hormone-supporting meals in my Premium Membership - join today and enjoy this recipe, my Eat Like Denise Meal Plan and more!
And don’t forget that consistent, low-impact exercise is also important to hormone health… that is why I created the Menopause Strong Program in my Premium Membership!
