The Morning Revitalizer Breathing Exercise is a wonderful way to start the day! I like to make it a habit to do this every morning when I wake up... it really does set a positive, optimistic tone for the day, and makes me feel better both physically and emotionally!! I know it can be hard to start a new healthy habit, but this one is worth taking on, and takes only a few minutes, so I encourage you to give it a try. Challenge yourself to add this to your plate for the remainder of this Fit + Fab Challenge - you can do it!!Doing this exercise before you get out of bed each morning will help fill you with energy and make you more productive throughout the day. Follow it with some energizing stretches (try this March Wake Up Workout - a fan favorite on my You Tube channel!!) for the ultimate morning routine. Here is how to do the Morning Revitalizer Breathing Exercise, courtesy of my Stop The Clock Fitness Plan. You don't even need to get out of bed for it!!Morning Revitalizer Breathing ExerciseNote: Keep your eyes open throughout the exercise.
- Lie on your back in bed. Inhale through your nose as you raise your arms straight up toward the ceiling.
- Exhale through your mouth as you let your arms drop back onto the bed.
- Slowly repeat the last 2 steps 6 times.
- Exhale forcefully through your mouth while pulling your tummy in, then sit up. Inhale through your nose and reach your hands toward the ceiling.
- Exhale through your mouth as you pull your hands down to your shoulders and make tight fists.
- Repeat the last 2 steps 4 times.
- When you feel ready, swing your feet out of bed and move forward with enthusiasm and energy!
