HAPPY NEW YEAR! Your Fresh Start Fitness Plan for 2026
Happy 2026! I am soooo excited for this new year - let’s head into it with a positive mindset, a smile on our faces, and goals that will lead us to better health over the next 12 months! I am setting small goals for myself, planned around activities and foods that I already enjoy, and to help you get your creativity going, I included some ways you can start this year with a fresh outlook on your health! I am doing these effective, consistent action steps as well, so join me and let’s feel great and look amazing together! 4 Steps To Feeling Great in 2026
Step 1: Create a Doable Weekly Workout Plan. Start with what you enjoy doing - walking, dancing, weight lifting, Pilates. When you are working out and enjoying it, you are more likely to continue on! So choose your move, then carve out 30 minutes for each day of the week where you know you will have time to dedicate to exercise! If you are busy, break it up into smaller timeframes. EVERY LITTLE BIT COUNTS!!! This is why my Membership offers 10-, 20- and 30+ minute workouts - so you can click on the app and get moving with me no matter your schedule!
And if you are just starting out, take it slow - do half the reps, stop when you are tired, and thank your body for doing what it could while you get started. This is a plan for lifelong health, it’s OK to start slow and work your way up - you can do it!
Step 2: Begin With a Healthy Breakfast. I am all about adding healthy foods, rather than removing foods - it makes eating for your health sustainable and enjoyable. And breakfast is a great place to begin - when you start the day healthy, you may be more likely to make good food choices the rest of the day! You can try new recipes in my new magazine Fit Over 50: New Year, New Abs! or try the dozens of protein and fiber-rich breakfast recipes in my app (think Avocado Egg Toast and Berry-Ricotta Waffles), or simply add a scoop of cottage cheese and fresh fruit to your go-to breakfast. Either way you are starting the day with a fueling meal that will give you energy and boost your metabolism!
Step 3: Pick a Few Healthy Habits For 2026. Little habits can make a big difference - like doing 3 Good Things before bed, flossing your teeth twice a day, drinking a big glass of water when you wake up, or adding a 5-minute stretch to your bedtime routine. Incorporate them and soon you will find they are second nature and make you feel fabulous!
Step 4: Reward Your Consistency. Thank your body after every workout or walk… give yourself a star at the end of each week for doing your daily habits… treat yourself to flowers or a manicure after a month of completing your habits and healthy add ons. These will help keep you on track!
