Hi everyone! I get asked about skincare a lot - no surprise, since as we get close to and past 50, our skin requires different needs than it did when we were younger. And with the drier season of winter coming along, extra attention should be given to our skin. So try these tips, from my Fit Over 50: Best Body Now magazine!

-Moisturize - all over! Moisturizing after 50 shouldn't be limited to your face and hands - you should be covering all parts of your body! I like to dry brush my body before I shower, and then immediately after, slather on coconut oil. Then, I use a rich, deeply hydrating face lotion that I apply to my face, neck (front, sides and back!), and decolletage, preferably with an SPF. And I always put SPF on my hands, to help keep spots away. A quick tip when it comes to your hands: Any product you use on your face, rub the extra onto the backs of your hands and then follow with a moisturizer!

-Try products with vitamin C. I love to incorporate vitamin C into my skincare routine, as this powerful antioxidant helps to boost collagen production, protects against against free radicals, and gives your skin a brighter look. My two secrets to getting the most of vitamin C creams or treatments: Look for products in tubes without a lot of air exposure - this helps to keep the product from degrading, and apply the product to a clean, slightly damp face to get the most of vitamin C's benefits!

-Use a humidifier. Especially if you live in an already drier climate, a humidifier can be a lifesaver for the skin. By putting some humidity back into the air, your skin will look and feel plumper. I also like to drink a full glass of water right when I wake up, to restore the hydration in my body lost when I sleep - another quick way to plump up your skin!
