You cannot live an EVER BETTER™ lifestyle without a good sleep routine! Sleep is so important for so many reasons. While asleep, our bodies are able to slow down and recover so we are able to wake up - rested and ready to tackle whatever the day brings. When your body is unable to take this much needed break it can take a toll. Thinking, concentration, energy levels and mood can all be affected. You will feel drained and unable to focus on anything! Here are some of my best sleep suggestions to help you get into a good sleep routine, fall asleep fast, and get the most restful sleep possible!
- Get Enough Sleep. It is suggested that adults get between seven and nine hours of sleep every night. Set yourself a bedtime based on when you wake up and stick to it!
- Set A Routine. Think back to when you had young kids, having a bedtime routine is critical to getting kids to sleep successfully! It's no different for us as adults - although we probably fight it harder than kids do! Start to wind your evening down at a good time and work towards hitting that bedtime you set for yourself.
- Fall Asleep Fast. My top tip for falling asleep fast is to shut down all electronics an hour before you get into bed. Your laptop, TV, iPads, and yes even your phone! Cutting these blue light sources off will help your eyes relax and allow you to fall asleep faster when it's time.
- Restful Sleep. After your routine is down, and you have taught your body how to fall asleep as quick as possible - your body will be able to get the most restful sleep possible! You can take it a step further by making sure you don't have any caffeine after about 2:00 in the afternoon, taking a magnesium supplement, and making sure you don't eat too close to bed time.
