Three Ways to Stay Accountable
Have a workout buddy. A friend, loved one, neighbor, playing partner... so many studies show that when someone is counting on you to show up, you are more likely to do it! Schedule a morning or evening walk, plan on playing pickleball and reserve the court, get a group bike ride or hike on the calendar. All will help keep you motivated and showing up!
Try a mini-challenge. It's easy to get overwhelmed by the thought of a major workout goal, so start smaller - you will still get so many benefits, and it can show you how capable you are of taking on bigger challenges! My 10-Day Fit and Fab Challenge is a great way to start... just long enough to actually see and feel results, but not too big a goal to be intimidating! 20 workouts to tone and lift, and 10 yummy recipes to help fuel your energy. Add the daily workout to your calendar, and you WILL stick with it - and I am there every step of the way to encourage you, too!
Make an exercise playlist. Whether it's music, podcasts, or an audiobook, having a playlist that you listen to ONLY when you exercise is a great motivator. I like fun, peppy music for fast walks and audiobooks for longer walks, they really keep me moving and looking forward to getting exercise and entertainment at the same time.
I have also found that laying out my workout outfit the night before is a good motivator, and food prepping healthy snacks keeps me accountable to eat well during the week. Whatever works for you - stick with it! And if you want to try my 10-Day Fit and Fab Challenge, simply join or start a free membership today!
