The Morning Revitalizer Breathing Exercise is a wonderful way to start the day! I like to make it a habit to do this every morning when I wake up... it really does set a positive, optimistic tone for the day, and makes me feel better both physically and emotionally!! I know it can be hard to start a new healthy habit, but this one is worth taking on, and takes only a few minutes, so I encourage you to give it a try. Challenge yourself to add this to your plate, as it can help to moderate unhealthy stress, which - when left unchecked - can lead to a lowered immune system.

Here is how to do the Morning Revitalizer Breathing Exercise - you don't even need to get out of bed for it!!

Morning Revitalizer Breathing Exercise

Note: Keep your eyes open throughout the exercise.

  • Lie on your back in bed. Inhale through your nose as you raise your arms straight up toward the ceiling.
  • Exhale through your mouth as you let your arms drop back onto the bed.
  • Slowly repeat the last 2 steps 6 times.
  • Exhale forcefully through your mouth while pulling your tummy in, then sit up. Inhale through your nose and reach your hands toward the ceiling.
  • Exhale through your mouth as you pull your hands down to your shoulders and make tight fists.
  • Repeat the last 2 steps 4 times.
  • When you feel ready, swing your feet out of bed and move forward with enthusiasm and energy!

Let's get fitter, together - inside and out!
