Stuck in a Winter Rut? 5 Simple Ways to Stay Motivated Until Spring
Hi everyone! Are you feeling those “winter blahs” set in? This time of year can make people feel low-energy and less-than-enthusiastic, probably due to weather and that end-of-winter phase. Will spring ever come? It WILL, and to help you get there, try these super simple, very effective tips to help take you from blah to rah! These really work, so make a goal to try each every day this week, then begin to layer in more next week… in just a short time you will feel so much better!
1) Short workouts for the win! Exercise is proven to boost your mood, so if you aren’t looking forward to a 30-minute routine, try a 10-minute one! Easier to fit in, complete, and absolutely transform how your mind and body feel afterwards! My Membership has lots of 10-minute workout options, including Belly Blasting, Full Body Sculpt, Pilates and more!
2) Consistency is the key. Perfection is last year - this year it’s all about consistency. Once you begin a healthy habit (exercising, eating more veggies, flossing your teeth), make it your goal to keep on doing this every day. After a few weeks, it will become a daily habit that will naturally be part of your healthy lifestyle, without even thinking about it! I like to give myself a treat after I add a new healthy habit for a month, like a pedicure or a candle. It works - give it a try!
3) Visualize springtime flowers and fresh air. Find a quiet spot, close your eyes, and think about a springtime scene that you have experienced and love. Maybe it’s a vase of tulips, or a walk in a park. Think about how it smells, feels, and how you will be there in just a few weeks. These scenarios can have a profound impact on your outlook, and are so worth the few minutes it takes.
4) Walking for energy! If you are at home and need an afternoon pick-me-up, my indoor walking plan in my Membership is perfect! You can do it anywhere, no equipment needed. You will burn calories, boost your mood, and get a jolt of energy right there at home! It’s like I am walking with you!
5) Change up your routines. And not just fitness - try a new grocery store, walk the dog a different way, take a different route to work or to run errands. This can spark curiosity and creativity, so important if you're feeling the depths of winter!
I hope these tips help YOU level up your outlook, so you stay positive, moving, and energized over the next few weeks! Every little bit counts, and my Membership and these tips can help! You are worth it - Spring is almost here, everyone!!
Let's live FIT, HAPPY and HEALTHY - TOGETHER!
