The Best Way to Start Your Day!

I'm sure you've heard the phrase 'Breakfast is the most important meal of the day!' before, and there's good reason behind it! The most important is to get your metabolism going for the day (and it's why I always include new breakfast recipes in my Fit Over 50 magazine!). Eating a nutritious breakfast, whether it's a bigger meal or something little before you go for a walk, will set a healthy tone for your day, give you energy from the start, and rev up your metabolism - a win, win, win! Here are two of my go-to breakfast options. I eat one of these options almost every day. Simple and delicious and nourishing for your body too!


Eggs - eggs are a something I always have on hand, they're easy to cook and even easier to meal prep. I like to boil several eggs at the beginning of each week to keep in my fridge for a quick and easy breakfast or snack! Add a piece of toast with avocado and you have a balanced meal including protein, healthy fat and fiber with the avocado, and a little bit of carbs.

- Greek Yogurt - another staple in my household! Greek yogurt is loaded with protein, good-for-you probiotics and some healthy fat too. This is what I choose if I want a lighter breakfast before my morning walk. I love to sprinkle some chia seeds, flax seeds, any fruit I have on hand and a little drizzle of honey - yum!
